

Faye Dees Simmons, age 88, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. She was born in West Green, Georgia. She has joined the love of her life, Allan Simmons, in heaven. They were married for 61 years before he passed away in 2015. She is survived by her son, Curtis (Diane); daughter, Suzan Herrmann (Butch); granddaughter, Allison McCarty (Josh); grandson, Allan Simmons (Anna); granddaughter, Natalie Simmons; granddaughter, Casey Phelps and 6 beautiful great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. Faye worked for Prudential for 26 years where she retired at the age of 50. During her years of retirement, she lived a fulfilling life with Allan spending time traveling to their mountain home, road trips to visit relatives, and creating lasting memories with her loved ones. In her later years, she would read a book a week, knock out a wordsearch puzzle a day, and enjoyed watching Hallmark movies. Mom is remembered by her children for family vacations to Texas and Georgia, cruising in the convertible to the beach, and having the patience of a Saint for all of Dad's hobbies. Mamaw is known by her grandchildren for her famous chicken casserole, fish crackers, warm-up Christmas presents, and cards for every holiday. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. A visitation for Faye will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. The funeral service will be immediately after at 1:00 PM followed by the committal service. All are invited to the reception afterwards.
