Filomena graduated high school from St. John’s Villa Academy - Staten Island, New York in 1974. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a minor in Psychology from St. John’s University. She graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Fil had successful early careers at Bankers Trust and Deloitte & Touche. About fifteen years ago she moved to the Jacksonville area and started her own consulting practice. Shortly thereafter she began working at her parish church, St. Joseph’s. Her parish friends and work colleagues became her second family.
Fil’s passion was baking and she completed several courses at famous New York City culinary schools. She will always be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and amazing sense of humor. Her smile was infectious. She had a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews.
Filomena is survived by her sister, Carmela and her brothers Tony and Ben.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 4-6PM at St Joseph's Catholic Church with the evening Mass being celebrated at 6 PM
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 1:30 PM followed by committal in St. Joseph's Cemetery
