Born September 15, 1924, in Jacksonville, Florence Joseph Belloit passed away on February 1, 2025. She is survived by her son Nick (wife Diane), daughter Bebe, daughter Pam (Tim), grandchildren Chad (wife Candice), Liza (husband Joshua) and Olivia. She is predeceased by her husband Nelson, her son-in-law Skip, and her four sisters and three brothers.
She spent her entire life of over 100 years here in Jacksonville, Florida. She was one of eight siblings and the youngest of five daughters. Growing up she was very close to her siblings and that closeness remained throughout their entire lives.
After graduating from Robert E Lee High School in 1942, she worked as a bookkeeper at the Naval Air station and later at Southern Bell.
On May 29, 1949, she and Nelson were married. Shortly thereafter, they began a family, and their children, Nick, Bebe and Pam were born. Nelson and Florence were happily married until Nelson’s death in 2001.
Florence was the consummate homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family and having guests over for meals, including her delicious Lebanese dishes. She kept an impeccable home.
What truly mattered to her was the happiness and well-being of her family.
Of utmost importance, however, was her relationship with her Creator. Based upon what she learned about Jehovah, she dedicated her life to Him and was baptized on February 9, 1956. She enjoyed sharing Bible truths with others and helped several to become worshippers of Jehovah.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 15 at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2001 Old Middleburg Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210. For those not able to attend in person, zoom details are provided below.
