

Frances E. Ellis died on Monday, December 17, 2012. Frances was born in Birmingham, Alabama on March 19, 1920. Her family moved to Jacksonville in 1932. Frances worked for many years in her son’s flower business, Richard’s, Inc. of Avondale. She was a very active member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church and volunteered in the office and on the Altar Society there. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Capuchin Franciscans. Frances also donated regularly to many charities and was active in her community. Survivors include her daughter, Jean E. Zeis and David A. Vetto of West Palm Beach, Florida; son Stephen A. and Lora Ellis of Palm Coast, Florida, and daughter Teresa A. and John Perona of Gallatin, Tennessee; daughter-in-law Elaine Ellis; 8 grandchildren Andy and Jamie Zeis of West Palm Beach, Florida, James and Carla Zeis of Tequesta, Florida, Brian and Sadia Covert of Naperville, Illionis, Karen and Joseph Flipper of Louisville, Kentucky, Rebecca Wyatt of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Richard Perona of Gallatin, Tennessee, Joshua Perona of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Angie Long of Maryville, Tennessee; 9 great grandchildren, Matthew Zeis, Alex Connor Wyatt, Luke Flipper, Jenna Covert, Taylor Perona, Joshua and Autumn Long and Olek Matyushym. Also, a dearly loved family friend of over 60 years who helped Frances daily, William Leon Nickel of Jacksonville. A visitation, the rosary and the Franciscan service will be at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Prior to the Mass. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 20, 2012 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 2609 Park Street in Riverside, officiated by Father Thomas Sullivan. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Reception will be at St. Paul’s Hall after interment.
