Born on January 19, 1933 in Jacksonville, FL, Francie was the daughter of the late Loretta Cecelia Christy and Clinton Doyle Anstead. Raised by her mother with her 5 siblings in the Brentwood area of Jacksonville, she worked in various retail and property management positions until she married and started her own family in 1952. She and her husband Frank created a warm, welcoming home for their family and friends in the old Mandarin area. She was active in the Episcopal Church Of Our Saviour Alter Guild for many years, loved gardening, and could often be found in her yard with a rake in hand and a big smile to greet you, welcoming you up to her porch for a cup of tea and a kind word.
Beyond her dedication to her home, Francie found immense joy in her role as “Grandmommy”. She spent decades nurturing the younger generations of her family, never missing a birthday, and creating traditions that will be carried on for lifetimes.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank, and her siblings Nell Ann, Mary Lou, Clinton Doyle (“Sonny”) and Clifford Allen (“George”). Her last surviving sibling, Harry Lee Anstead, resides in Tallahassee, FL.
Her legacy of love, patience, and family devotion lives on through her children, Frank (“Charlie”) Roach, Joseph (“Joey”) Roach, John (“Johnny”) Roach and her daughters-in-law Mary, Sheryl and Michelle; her grandchildren, Lanna Roach, Jeff Roach, Jaime Tucker, Chris Roach, Kevin Roach, Michael Roach; and her great-grandchildren, Luke Tucker, Sadie Tucker and Theodore Roach.
Francie will be buried on Saturday, August 15 at Mandarin Cemetery at 10:00am alongside her husband Frank. A reception to celebrate her life will follow at her home in Mandarin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Dreams Come True.
