Frances Fay Sharp

Family, faith, and caring for others would remain at the center of her life throughout her 92 years.

In 1959, Frances began an exciting new chapter when she became a flight attendant with American Airlines and relocated to New York. William H. Sharp, the love of her life, soon realized that having Frances so far away simply would not do. He went to New York to bring her home, and they were married shortly thereafter.

Frances and William shared 53 years of marriage, building a wonderful life and family together until his passing in 2013. After their marriage, Frances became a devoted homemaker and mother, dedicating herself to raising their family and creating a loving home. During the many years that William's work required him to travel, Frances was the steady presence at home and truly became the heart of the Sharp family.

In 1972, William's work brought the family to Jacksonville, Florida. What began as a job transfer became their home, where they raised their children, developed lifelong friendships, and became part of a church community that meant so much to them.

Frances was a faithful and devoted Christian. She loved attending church, reading her Bible and Scriptures, listening to Christian music, and participating in church activities. Deermeadows Baptist Church and the friendships she formed there became an important part of her life. She even learned enough about Facebook to occasionally share a favorite Scripture, Bible verse about love, or message of faith with others.

Above all else, Frances's greatest joy was her family. She loved to laugh, have fun, and simply be together with the people she loved. She had a giving heart and was always thinking about what she could do for someone else.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Pamela and her husband, Danny; grandchildren Brandon and Emily; and four beloved great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her son, William and Sondra; grandchildren Lauren, Julia, and William; and one beloved great-grandchild.

Frances was the last surviving of six brothers and sisters. She also leaves behind an extended family and many dear friends.

Those who knew Frances will remember her sweetness, her faith, her laughter, her generosity, and most of all, the love she gave so freely to her family and everyone around her.
