Frank Noah Dobson, passed away peacefully, May 24, 2017 surrounded by loving family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Brooke Burnette Dobson; son, Ben; Daughter, Brooke Erin; Sister, Alice Vaccaro (Carol); and nephew, Buddy Vaccaro (Jess) along with extended family members and friends.
Frank was born in Jacksonville, excelling in music and athletics. As a graduate of Terry Parker High School in 1971, he was an eceptional football player and track man who earned a football scholarship to Maryville College in Maryville, TN.
Music took over and led to the formation of the band - ZEUS. After many years on the road with the band, Frank decided to settle down with the love of his life, Brooke.
Following an apprenticeship with a master jeweler, he went to work for Barnett Jewelers. This led to an amazing partnership with his Father, Nat, for over 30 years at Dobson & Son Jewelers. After closing his business in Arlington, he worked with Gold Star Jewelry & Pawn.
Fatherhood was his super power. Spending time with his children, nieces and nephew was especially important to him. He impacted the lives of many young people through coaching football, skating and Indian Guides and Princesses and being there for others who needed extra guidance and support in their lives.
Frank was always proud of his Jewish heritage. Being an avid reader, he challenged himself to read the Old and the New Testament from cover to cover several times and found that prophecies of the Old Testament were fulfilled in Jesus Christ. The family attended Beth Jacob Messianic Temple.
Brook and Frank celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on May 10th and, shortly thereafter, Frank entered the kingdom of God.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Monument Pointe Fellowship, 13720 Mt. Pleasant Road, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
In lieu of flowers, Frank’s wishes would be to help his family. Donations may be made to: www.gofundme.com/frank-dobson-memorial-fund
