All our of thoughts and prayers are with you.  We have such fond memories of Fred and the healthy laughter he always brought with him.  Our great consolation is that we will see - and laugh - with him again.  

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.  For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.  Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee (Ps 33:20-22).




Been thinking of him endlessly. So much of who I am is informed by him and how he taught me to see the world and how to find humor in life. I'm going to miss you everyday, I love you so much, Grandpa. I'll see you again before I know it, and that brings me comfort. 

The photo is from a trip to DC he took me on when I was 18, precious memories I'm so happy to have for the rest of my life.

I have love and respect for my brother in law. 
For loving my sister and honoring her by  being a good provider, her best friend.  He was very smart and  he was always laughing and joking.  He was a good man by “manning up” and  helped to raise her first seven children. 
He was such a good dad by always being involved in all of his children's lives.

This was the last picture taken with grandpa. It was a night full of laughter, storytelling, talking and good food. (Finally, got it to upload.)  My husband met him the day before and said that grandpa reminded him of his maternal grandpa whom he was close to. I remember grandpa stating he felt honored by that when I told him. Matt enjoyed having breakfast with grandma and grandpa and how all of them teased me in some way during the visit. He still likes to tease me to this day about how he is the favorite grandson in law even though I tell him they don't have favorites. Just know that my husband loves you both and enjoyed getting to know you.

This was the last picture I took with grandpa. It was a great evening of stories, laughter, and talking. 

Harrington family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Fred was a funny man, always joking and playing around. He was a great family man. He sure did love you Mary. Hang on to the memories Mary. They will sustain you in these most difficult times. Keep your sweet family close and treasure every moment with them.

FRED was such a GOOD!guy he took us in as one of his own when we were kids took us everywhere as a troubled youth we felt loved by your family that meant the world to us I will never forget that GOD BLESS HIM!

The Harrington family will always be special to my childhood. I was so blessed to have known Mr. Harrington. To all the family, we hope your special memories of this very loved man, allow you peace and comfort as you move forward in your lives. Grief is different for everyone. Allow yourself to grieve in whatever way is healing to your hearts.

My sweet Papa Red❤️ He always went out of his way to make me laugh and smile. Some of my favorite memories are when he would show us his new magic tricks and blow our minds!!! Or when he and Gabriel went fishing and came back early because Gabe accidentally hooked Grandpa’s pants!! I will miss him so much. I’m forever grateful for the time I had with him. I will love you forever, Papa Red❤️🕊

Fred’s huge heart and laugh touched so many. I will always remember how he supported his family and loved ones.  His kindness and generosity made such a difference in my life, and so many others. I have so many wonderful and cherished memories of trips and outings where we all were together. He always made me feel so welcome. Thank you for being an amazing father figure and person. You are so missed- all my love.

If you were to ask any of us in the Brennan family, how do you remember Fred? We would all answer his amazing smile and infectious laugh! When  we look back on our memories of Fred, we always smile too. Much love to Mary and all the family.  Love Laurie Brennan and all the Brennan family.

My fondest memory of Dad was when they were living in San Jose, Ca. It was a beautiful night, and the sky was clear to scope out the stars. Dad was outside with his telescope looking through it when I walked out to see what he was doing. Looking through the telescope and seeing the stars were amazing up close. Then he said I wonder if we can see the planet Saturn? So he took out his planet's wheel and looked for the direction of Saturn. Dad found it and shared the beauty of God's wonderful creation. I felt special that night as we shared this incredible moment.

Grandpa taught me a lot growing up. The most important thing he taught me happened at a fast food restaurant on the way to the train station after attending grandpa Bill's memorial. We started reminiscing memories we had of grandpa Bill which led into a discussion about being a step dad. At the time I was reluctant to call my "step" dad by the title of dad. I kept calling him Rick and was adamant that I would always call him that and never dad. I was a strong willed almost 19 year old. Grandpa shared his heart and gave me a perspective that I needed. I may not remember word for word what was said, but his words of wisdom challenged my thinking. I realized on the train ride home how much my dad loved me as his own and patiently waited for the day I realized that and called him dad. I started calling him dad when I got home. It was awkward at first but felt right. This is one of most fondest memories of grandpa and I will always be thankful to him for this. I love and miss him dearly.
