Fred G. Sarkees

Sarkees - Fred George Sarkees, 66, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016. Fred was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 29, 1950. He was a gentle, kind-hearted man who adored his family and dedicated his life to helping others. He worked in social services for over 40 years, was an active part of the community, and enjoyed fishing, golf and spending time with his grandchildren. Fred was preceded in death by his wonderful parents, George and Sarah. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Colleen; along with two children, Michelle and Cathleen; four grandchildren, Labrena, Gavin, Christopher and Anastasia; and one great grandchild, Skye; his siblings Rosemary (Jack), George Jr. (Rose), Albert (Robin) and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was fondly called Gida, Fun Bun, Lil Dago, and Fredrico. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Emmaus Church, 3425 Sans Pareil St. Jacksonville, FL 32224, with Pastor Tone Benedict officiating.
