G. Katherine Cook

She married Fred Cook as a young woman and together they raised a daughter, Vickie Marlane, who preceded Katherine in death in 2001. Katherine and Fred were saved shortly after their marriage and they served the Lord together, often attending Christian training and conferences.

She lost Fred in 1988 but cared for her Mama until her death in 1997. Katherine joined King of Kings Church in 2000 and was a prayer warrior and intercessor for many. She had a special love for the little children who loved her back. She took care of elderly friends and provided transportation to doctors and appointments for many.

During her battle with Alzheimer’s the past two years, Katherine was known and loved by the staff of Arbor Terrace Memory Care for her thankfulness and prayers for everyone in need.

Katherine left for her home in heaven on Sunday, December 10th surrounded by love, prayers and song.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery.
