Gary W. Mays, 66, of Jacksonville FL, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida with his family at his bedside. Born March 6, 1946 in Dayton, KY to Thelma Mays Hill and the late Harold W. Mays. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy Link Mays, daughter Andrea Mays Bennett (Dennis), son Jeffrey W. Mays, and sister Tammy K. Lesnik (Richard). He was the proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Loren, Camden, Skylar, Brayden, and Lily, and a loving uncle to Eric Link, Megan Lesnik, and Shaun Harold Lesnik. He retired from Hart Industries in March of 2012. He gave his life to his children by his loving guidance and memories on the ball field. He was the strength and heart of his family. He is loved and will always be remembered. A private service will be held for family members. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
