George Martin

George Martin, Jr., 85 passed away on Tuesday September 27, 2022 in Jacksonville. He was born in St. Augustine, FL on August 2, 1937 to George Martin and Maggie Cooper Martin.

George spent most of his life in Jacksonville and was a graduate of the Old Stanton High School. He retired after 29 ½ years from Florida Rock. Besides working he enjoyed meeting his friends at Krystal for breakfast and conversation.

Loving survivors include daughters, Cheryna Duncan (Victor), Chandra Toure, Patrice Nicholas (James) and Chertanelle Jackson; sons, Gregory Martin, Timothy Martin and Jonathan Martin; sister, Vondell Martin Dingle; grandchildren, Michael, Sheena, Arliyah, Oshea, James, Jr., Jon-Taye, Ashantye, Keith, Cory, Jonathan and Joshua; great grandchildren, Quiyara, Aamari, Yara, Zhen, Aaron, Jase, Jeremah, Coryanna, Corylnn, Corrise, Andru and Jacoby; nieces , nephews and wonderful friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday October 7, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave., Jacksonville, FL. 32208. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 8, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Ave. Jacksonville, FL 32208. Officiating will be Minister James Nicholas and Pastor Barry L. Townsend
