He was born on September 10, 1947 to the late, Barbara Ann Nail and George Emmette Danner in Atlanta, GA.
As a young man, George moved to Jacksonville, FL where he joined the United States Marine Corps. He served honorably during the Vietnam War, during which he received 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star with Valor. After his honorable discharge, George started his 40 year career with Gate Petroleum.
George was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and was a 4th degree black belt Shihan in Jodo. He was a member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church, where he taught a Sunday School class. George loved his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
George is predeceased by his parents, and brother, Robert “Bobby” Nail.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Nail; daughters, Kelli Collins and Kristin (Jimmy) Scroggins; brother, John David (Wendy) Nail; 10 grandchildren; 3 nephews; and 1 niece.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 FL-13, Saint Johns, FL 32259. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Jimmy Scroggins as Officiant, followed by interment at 2:30 p.m. in Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218. A Reception will follow at 4:30 p.m. in Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 FL-13, Saint Johns, FL 32259.
