George M Thornton, 83, passed away peacefully in his home on April 2, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Washington, Georgia but lived the majority of his life in Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by daughter Julie Mullis, siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. George was preceded in death by his parents and two younger brothers. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Cemetery. I lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care in memory of George M. Thornton.
