George William Wittkopp

George William Wittkopp, 72, passed away April 25, 2014. George proudly served in the US Navy, retiring after 20 years on December 7, 1979 as a Senior Chief. During that time, he served in Vietnam and various Mediterranean deployments. George is survived by his wife 43 years, Dolores; son, Jason (Candy); brother, Charles (Sandy); sisters Frances Clegg and Janice Kelley; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Tuesday, April 29 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, April 30 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. “Far winds and following seas, I stand relieved.” Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223 (904)288-0025
