Gerald Andrew Baker

August 22, 1940August 10, 2010

Gerald A. Baker, 69, passed away August 10, 2010 at Community Hospice on Sunbeam Road. God sent his angels to carry our sweet husband, father and papa to heaven. He was the son of the late Andrew and Elsie Baker of Bartow, FL.

He resided in Jacksonville for the last 50 plus years. He was the Vice President of Fred Wilson and Associates Engineering Firm. He recently was honored by the Florida Engineering Society. Jerry enjoyed boating with his family from his home on the river, grilling and spending time with his family.

He leaves behind a grieving family: his wife of 45 years, Joyce (daughter of the late Claude and Pearl Harvey of Glen St. Mary, FL), two sons, Jeffery Todd (wife Melissa), and Keith Harvey (wife Kimmie), six grandchildren: twins Ashley and Kaitlyn, Kurt, Logan, Lauren and Paige. The family would like to thank the many loving friends and neighbors who have always been there, especially the past four months to help during his illness, as well as the caring, loving staff at Community Hospice.

The celebration of Jerry’s life will be at Ft. Caroline Baptist Church 11428 McCormick Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32225, where he was an active member, officiated by Pastor Ricky Powell on Friday, August 13 at 11 am. Family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to service. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Ft. Caroline Baptist Church or Community Hospice. Arrangements by Greenlawn Funeral Home.
