Gerald Curtis Benton Jr.

Gerald Curtis Benton went to be with his Lord and Savior May 3, 2022 at the age of 70 years old. Born in Ft. Worth Texas on August 4 1951, he went on to proudly his country and served three tours in Viet Nam. Upon his return to Texas he worked and received his BA in Computer Science. It was in Texas where met the love of life Reyna Fuentez and they were married on September 21, 1987. Together they had many wonderful adventures. Gerald went to work for CSX in Jacksonville FL in 1994 as Senior Administrator and it was there where they decided to make their home. Gerald retired in 2009, he had a loved for tinkering and looked forward to his weekly talks with his son Damien. Gerald made friends everywhere he went and loved to visit with his neighbors. Loved ones left to cherish his memories are his wife Reyna Benton, his sons, Damien(Andrea’) granddaughter Gracie and son Michael from Arlington Texas, sister Gay of Dallas Tx and nieces and nephews. We would like to thank our neighbors for all their help with Gerald and the Home care Group, especially Lou, Steve and Dr. Tiffany. A special thank you to our brother-in-law Anthony Wood for caring for Gerald for caring for Gerald for the last 7 months, your kindness and willingness to care for him allowed Gerald to be at home.
