Gloria Dawn LeFluer also known as Jinky, resident of Macclenny, FL was born December 5th, 1937 to Phoebe Lephew Rogers and Stanley Matthew Rogers in Red Sulphur Springs, WV. On March 16, 2015, the biggest and brightest street lights of all came on and God called his child to come home.
Gloria moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1958. She then married the late Kenneth Dixon and was a homemaker during the 1960’s. During the 1970’s Gloria became a data input supervisor for Blue Cross Blue Shield. During the 1980’s and 90’s Gloria became owner, along with her husband Kenneth Hess, of Commercial Sheet Metal, where she held a contractor’s license. She retired in 1999 and moved to Bryceville, FL to enjoy country living, where she joined and regularly attended Brandy Branch Baptist Church. She later moved to Macclenny, FL to be closer to family. She was an avid painter and her works are displayed in numerous family members’ homes. Gardening was also one her favorite things to do and she loved spending time with her family. She wanted to hear all about new things her grandchildren were doing and always wished she could see them more often. She especially enjoyed her regular outings with her niece Debby where a simple doctor’s appointment could turn into an all-day adventure.
Gloria leaves behind her beloved sister, Dorlis Rogers, daughters; Cindy (Ronnie) Collins and Kimberly (Ray) Addair, grandchildren; James (Teri) Collins, Elizabeth (Chuck) McLauchlin, Amanda Carter, Zachary Addair, Autumn (Devon Hale) Wall, Caleb (Ashleigh) Addair and Stella Addair, great-grandchildren; Ethan Collins, Claire Collins, Chase McLauchlin, Gracelyn Wall, Sidney Wall, Chance McLauchlin, Kalia Hale and Lynden Addair. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews that were very dear to her heart and brought great joy to her life - nieces; Debby (Danny) Malone, Tracy (Izzy) Tahil, Kelly (David) Frasier, Taylor Malone and Micki Bolena, nephews; Michael (Lucy) Bolena, and John (Kim) Malone.
Gloria was greeted in Heaven by her daughter Angela (Michael) Carter, mother Phoebe Rogers Holland, father Stanley Rogers, and step-father Delmar Holland. We all love her very much and will miss her smile and the way she made each of us feel so special and so loved. Hopefully, they will let her check the mail in Heaven. The family will receive guests Thursday, March 19th, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32205 where services will also be held, Friday, March 20th, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
