Gordon E. Blakeman, left this world and was escorted into Heaven on September 5, 2016. Born in Evansville, IN on August 4, 1935, he moved to Louisville, KY and lived there for 40 years before being transferred to Jacksonville, FL with the L & N Railroad and became part of CSX Transportation Railroad where he retired after 40 years of service.
He leaves behind his wife, Fredde; daughter, Susan Rodgers (James); son, Charles Blakeman (Susan); 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; two step-sons, Jeremy Thibideau and Jeff Ferrell , and a host of wonderful friends. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, and his oldest son, Michael Blakeman.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at River of Praise Worship Center, 83410 St Mark Drive, Yulee, Florida 32097 at 11:00am.
