

He grew up in Jacksonville Beach and graduated from Duncan U. Fletcher where he lettered in football and track and was State low hurdles champion for two years. Gordon was a lifeguard with the American Red Cross Life Saving Corps from 1945 - 1949. He never lost his love for the beach. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during the Korean War as a Master Deep Sea Diver.
Gordon retired from Atlantic Coast Railroad/CSX after 40 years. He was a member & Past Master of Stafford Caldwell Lodge, a York Rite Mason and a member of Morocco Temple.
He was an active member of Riverside Park United Methodist Church for 56 years and served in numerous leadership roles.
He is predeceased by his parents, his brothers John and Charles and his daughter Kathy Hoover.
Gordon is survived by his wife, Emily R. Rehberg of 56 years, his two sons, Michael and Ronald (Cyndi), two daughters Pamela Pearsall and Judy Marks (Danny), 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be at Riverside Park United Methodist Church, 819 Park Street Jacksonville, FL on March 22nd at 11:00 a.m.
