

Grady Kenneth Martin, (73), beloved husband, father, and grandfather of Jacksonville, Florida and previously of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away Monday, February 6, 2012. He was retired from Miles Pharmaceutical and East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office-Civil Division. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jacksonville and previously a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; member of Alhambra (Grand Commander); Woods and Waters; Senior Ministry, Usher, and Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas More. He is survived by his spouse of 47 years, Lynda Laird Martin. He is also survived by his daughters, Melissa Martin Balseiro (Dr. Jesse Balseiro) and Andree Martin Woods (Donnie Woods), grandchildren Sarah Balseiro, Alex Balseiro, and Sadie Belle Woods. He is preceded in death by his father, Grady Henry Martin, and mother, Frances Kerr Martin. He attended De La Salle High School and Loyola University both in New Orleans. He was a member of Loyola Beggars Fraternity. Funeral services will be conducted by Father Tim Cusick at 10 AM, Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of Grady Martin to Holy Family Scholarship Fund, 9800 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
