Gulnara Rustamova, affectionately known to many as “Julie,” passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, surrounded by love, after a long, brave, and fiercely fought battle with Cancer. She was 64 years old.
Born on April 9, 1962, to Rza and Janna Rustamova, Gulnara was a woman of exceptional intellect, courage, and vision. In 1996, driven by a determination to build a brighter future, she immigrated to the United States with her husband and children. Through unwavering perseverance, grace, and hard work, she truly achieved the American Dream, building a deeply rich, beautiful, and fulfilled life.
Over the span of three decades, Julie became a cornerstone of the Jacksonville community and a guiding light within the Euro-American community. A true pioneer in her own right, she dedicated her life to helping others, providing invaluable support and guidance across generations. To know Julie was to have a mentor, an advocate, and a friend. She was like a mother to all who crossed her path—always offering wise counsel, open arms, and an encouraging spirit.
Julie was a brave and brilliant woman whose legacy of generosity, leadership, and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her. Even in her final days, she demonstrated the same fierce bravery and resilience that defined her entire life. She fought until the very end with unmatched dignity.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Aidan and Nailya; her loving sisters, Natavan, Zemfira, and Nazila; as well as a vast community of extended family, dear friends, and lives she touched deeply over the years. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Rza and Janna Rustamova and husband Elchin Mamedov.
Julie was truly special—one of a kind—and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled. Though she will be missed beyond measure, her extraordinary spirit, warmth, and impact will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
