
PLUMMER- Harold J. “Yogi” Plummer, 77, passed away Monday, August 18, 2008. He was a native and life-long resident of Jacksonville. Mr. Plummer was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from the Florida Times Union after 40 years of service. He also bowled on the Florida Times Union bowling team and was a player/coach for their softball team. “Yogi” was an umpire for the Christ-The-King Athletic Association for teeball for 4 years. Mr. Plummer was a season ticket holder for every Jacksonville football team to include, the Jaguars, Bulls, Firebirds, Express, Tomcats and the 1969 Sharks. He is survived by his wife of 50 plus years, Lena Francis Plummer; his son, Harold J. “Hal” Plummer, Jr.; 2 grandchildren, Eddie Lee Plummer and Ashley Elaine Plummer; 2 great grandchildren, Tyler and Kaylee Plummer; 2 brothers-in-law, Shirley “Cookie” Cook and Jack “M.J.” Dobson, nieces, nephews, God daughters, Iris, Maryann, Helen and Michele and all the kids that attended Plummer’s Day Care. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23rd, in St. Mary’s Cemetery (Gate #4 at Evergreen Cemetery) with Father Anthony Sebra officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 22 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Community Hospice of N.E.
