Retired JSO. Sergeant Harold David Zufelt “Dave” passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013, surrounded by family, at the age of 69. He was born in Knoxville, TN. in 1944 but moved to Jacksonville at a very early age.
A graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in 1961, Dave joined the Army, serving from 1967-1969, during which he was awarded two purple hearts, the Vietnam Service, and Campaign medals.
Sgt. Zufelt was a member of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for 29 years, from 1970—1999. Upon retirement he worked as a Bailiff officer and Sergeant from 1999 – 2011. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing and reading.
Dave is survived by sons, David and Curtis, daughters, Stephanie, Melissa and Crystal, and three grandchildren.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue. Funeral services will be held in the chapel Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00am with Chaplain Kelly Kemp officiating.
Graveside services with honors will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL at 1pm.
