Helen Fox Brittain

Helen Fox Brittain, 79, died on Thursday, June 8, 2017, in Jacksonville, FL. She is a graduate of Hermitage High School, Richmond, VA; Bluefield Junior College, Bluefield, VA,; and Longwood College, Farmville, VA, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Helen taught Home Economics in Hanover County, VA, and Duval County, FL. She and her husband moved to Jacksonville in 1978 from Smithtown, New York. Since 1999, she was an active member of the Jacksonville Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.

She is predeceased by her parents, Conway L and Eleanor Jennings Fox, and a granddaughter, Samantha L McDaniel. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles L. Brittain; their daughters: Michelle B McDaniel (Jamie), Lisa B Kinsey (Ben), and Aimee R Fennell (Matt); 8 grandchildren: Lacey and Courtenay Kinsey, Morgan and Andrew McDaniel, Jake, Ian, Eiley, and Kate Fennell; and a sister, Courtney Fox; all are from the Jacksonville area.

Services will be held at CrossRoad UMC Church, 10005 Gate Parkway N. Jacksonville, FL 32246 on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 11 AM. Reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Jacksonville American Heart Association. Interment will be held separately.
