

Having enjoyed a long and wonderful life, Mrs. Lindell passed away peacefully after a brief illness. She was born in Americus, GA, in 1919 to Mattie Beulah and Epaminondas White. She resided in Jacksonville from age 13 until her death. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree at Wesleyan College in Macon, GA.
Mrs. Lindell was a lifelong member of Riverside Avenue Christian Church. She served as president of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and as a member of the Auxiliary at Hope Haven Children’s Hospital.
Mrs. Lindell is predeceased by her husband Carl W. Lindell, Sr. to whom she was married for 61 years. She is also predeceased by her sister Martha Blalock and her brother-in-law Walter E. Ware, Sr. Survivors include her sister Mary Ware, her children Carl W. Lindell, Jr., Laura Gettys, Alan D. Lindell and Jon Michael Lindell, her grandchildren Lane G. Lehman, Joseph C. Gettys and his wife, Reverend Laura Gettys, Mary Helen Gettys, Jason Lindell and his wife Natalie Lindell, M.D., Annika Prince and her husband John Prince, Ryan Lindell, Brent Lindell, Jennifer Lindell and her husband Matthew Bunnell, David Lindell, Sarah Lindell, Russell Lindell and Merica Lane Lindell, and great-grandchildren Abigail Lehman, Wyatt Lehman, Noah Lehman, Mattie Lane Lehman, William Foster Gettys, Joseph Elijah Gettys, Anna Kate Lindell, Walker Prince, and Lilah Bunnell, and many beloved nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Riverside Avenue Christian Church on Saturday, January 24, 2015 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be sent to Riverside Avenue Christian Church.
