
Helen was born and raised in Columbia, S.C., to Fred and Marie Asmer, and moved to Jacksonville after marrying Fayze Solomon in 1944 . She was a devoted wife and mother and cherished her family deeply. Her memberships included the Molaka Club, and The Assumption Council of Catholic Women (St. Gerrard’s Circle).

Helen is survived by her children, Mary Anne Solomon Hashem (Harold), Gregory Solomon (Janis), Annette Krestalude (Robert), Theresa Pellicer (Donald Sr.). Her grandchildren include; Aimee Solomon, Michelle Krestalude, Joseph Solomon, Nicole Krestalude, Anthony Hashem, Donnie Pellicer, Anne-Marie Hashem, Loraine Solomon, Robert Pellicer. She is furthered survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013 with Vigil Prayers at 8:00 p.m. at Assumption Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5th, 2013 with calling hour at 9:00 a.m. in Assumption Catholic Church 2403 Atlantic Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32207, with Rev. Anthony Sebra as Celebrant.
Memorial donations may be made to Assumption Catholic Church’s Heritage and Horizons Building Fund. A special thank you to Trish Nichols, Sharon Oxley, and her attending Physician Louis Akra for their warmth and dedication to our mother’s comfort and spiritual strength in all her days under their care.
