

Henry “David” Phelps, a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, passed away on August 28, 2011 at the age of 83. He served in the US Army and was the owner/operator of Phelps Welding and Crane Service, K & J Nursery and more recently David’s Mountain Rentals.
David was predeceased by his parents Henry W. and Thelma Phelps, sister Frances Stesney and wife Ann R. Phelps.
Survivors include a sister Dorothy Dickson, Brandon, FL, daughters Kay P. Morgan (Robert), Joy P. Stars (Mark), stepdaughters Linda P. Toliver, Longivew, TX, Nancy P. Aldrich (James), grandchildren: Christopher (Haleh) Morgan, Los Angeles, CA, Emily Morgan, Kristina Stars, Ashley (Chris) Moore, Melanie Stars, Ryan Stars, Kim (Tim) Williams, Chip (Samantha) Toliver, Melinda (Tommy) Smith, Mark (Karla) Aldrich, Julie Luken, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday at Greenlawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, September 1 at Hogan Baptist Church, Pastor Peter Copeland officiating.
Burial at Greenlawn Cemetery immediately following the service.
