Howard Ray Jeter

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Beverly Ann Jeter; sons, James, Mark and Matthew, as well as his grandchildren, Caroline and Matthew.

Howard was a member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church, The Navy League, and the Navy Flying Club. Howard enrolled in The Virginia Polytechnic Institutes’ Mechanical Engineering program after retiring from 10 years active duty in the US Navy in 1958. He enlisted in the Navy reserve and continued to serve his country with distinction for 23 more years in various capacities including senior repair officer at Naval Station Mayport from 1972-1979.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 30th, 2013 in Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 State Rd. 13, St. Johns FL conducted by Rev. Dr. Tim Maynard. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at church. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207.
