

The daughter of the late Callie and Perry Register and a native of Columbia County, Mrs. Sasser moved from Ocala, where her children were born, to Jacksonville in 1959. She was a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church until she moved to San Marco where she became a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church. She was a devout Christian who read her Bible and went to church serving in many areas. She was retired from the Jacksonville Public Library System. Many Jacksonville children were entertained by her story telling. She was an active member in the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Garden Club, and the Jacksonville Woman’s Club where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed painting, meeting with friends, and cooking for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Sasser. Mrs. Sasser is survived by her sister, Lenita “Diane” Register, her children Jim Sasser (Cecelia) of Kimberling, MO, Allen Sasser, Linda Strickland (John Pauley), and Doug Sasser (Christine) of Jacksonville., Grandchildren Stephanie, Ashley, Lee, Ford, Kyle, Callie, Sarah, Rachel, and Anna, a Niece Cassidy Futch and great nephew James Futch, along with 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, October 25, in the Chapel at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Avenue. Jacksonville, Florida. Interment will be at 2:00 PM in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1007 NE Needmore Rd., White Springs, FL. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, October 24 at the Funeral Home.
