Mrs. Ida Mae Walker, 78, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, September 19, 2010. Mrs. Walker, the youngest daughter of Archie P. Winn and Ruth Gill Winn, was born in Pierce County, Georgia and had lived in Jacksonville since 1951. She was a member of Duval Station Baptist Church and had retired from JC Penney Co. in 2000. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Clyde Walker; her daughter, Susan (Marty) Higginbotham; 3 sons: Billy (Michele), Steve (Barbara) and Rick (Mary) Walker; 1 sister, Mildred Winn; 8 grandchildren: Stacy, Tracy, Brenda, Greg, Wendy, Andrew, Kate and Tasha; 16 great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday (TODAY) at COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1426 Rowe Avenue. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Pearson-Dial Funeral Home, 659 E. Main St., Blackshear, GA, at 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 22. Interment will follow in the New Home Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Offerman, Georgia.
