POWELL, Mrs. Imogene Hague Powell, 95, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Mrs. Powell was born in Jacksonville and had lived in Callahan, Florida for the past 40 years, having retired from the Duval County School Board. For many years she was a member of First Baptist Church Callahan and participated in Sunday School outreach, through visitation, and up until last year was a group leader. She loved the Lord, knew Christ as her Saviour and was a “prayer warrior”. She was predeceased by her brother, William “Bud” Hague and her sister-in-law, Thelma “Teddy” Hague. Survivors include her son, Harold Leslie Powell; her daughter, Winnifred (Don) McNeese; a granddaughter, Paige McNeese (Mike) Webb; a grandson, Matthew (Shannon) McNeese; Great Grandchildren: Hannah Hughes, Mallory, Molly & Zachary McNeese; Nieces, Leslie Marie Hague and Sandra Lee (C.L.) Daughtry; and many other loving family and friends. She was loved and she showed her love for her family and friends. The family would like to thank St. Vincent’s Hospital nursing staff (4th floor), the doctors and Community Hospice of N.E. Florida. A special thank you to Jackie Bean for her friendship and gentle touch while assisting in her home care. We are comforted in knowing she is with her Heavenly Father and that we will see her again. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 22 at First Baptist Church Callahan with Dr. Lynn Hyatt officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one (1) hour prior to the service, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Evangelical Fund of First Baptist Church of Callahan or Community Hospice of N.E. Florida. Arrangements by COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1426 Rowe Ave.
