Nardine (Imogene's sister) and George Koester, Kimberly (Imogene's Niece and Kim's Godmother) and Bill Carroll and Mary Ellen Woodworth (Imogene's Daughter) were at her Memorial Service on June 7, 2019 at 11:00AM and after the Service for "Thanksgiving for the Life of  Celebration of Imogene Ellen Scirpo" Service at The Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, as Gene requested to Fr. Joe during his last visit at Hospice, she said I want everyone to be Happy at my Memorial Service.  Therefore, there was a joyful Celebration in the Great Hall with excellent food and refreshments prepared by the Ladies of the Church.   Father Joe Gibbes performed the Rite II service and music was provided by the Director of Music Robert Moore. 

Everything went according to Gene's request, and we all appreciated those present at the Service and the fellowship we had together.  Inurnment was at the Church within the Columbarium in Memorials Gardens, and she has join her Husband Salvatore Scirpo and they are both looking over the St. John River and what a wonderful view during Sunset.  


Gene was my first friend when we moved to Mandarin in 1988.  Living only a couple of blocks from each other, we shared many good times together such as bowling and golf.  Our birthdays are a day apart, our anniversaries two days apart and we celebrated those events together with our husbands, H.L. and Sal.
We were like family, celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter together along with her immediate family members.  It was a great 30+ years.  Thank you, Gene, for those memories.

My Aunt Gene was also my Godmother and my friend. I was so blessed that I could spend extra time with her in the last few years. Unfortunately, in the past year, her health started on a decline and it was a blessing for me to be able to help and care for her. No matter how hard we tried, she could not win the battle. No one wants to see their loved one suffer or struggle.

She was a very strong woman, fun to be around, very interesting to talk to and spend time with and loved by all who knew her.

She stated, she was ready to go home to be with the Lord and that she was in Peace.

Although we will miss her dearly, we can rejoice in knowing that she is home and well again!

She will live in our hearts forever.

God looked around his garden- And found an empty place,

God’s garden must be beautiful -He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering -He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never – Get well on earth again.

It broke our hearts to lose you – But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you – The day God called you home.

Aunt Gene always had a smile, a laugh, and a fun story to tell about my Dad, Jere Werton.  I always appreciated her effort to make it out to California to see my folks, or to drive South in Florida to meet up with our family when we were in Melbourne. I loved the stories Gene and her sisters would tell about growing up with my Dad, or stories about Grandpa Werton. Dad often told me how Gene would slip him an extra $10 when he was going out on a date. So very grateful Gene and I were able to speak in early May.  She was a remarkable woman and a very dear Aunt.

Grandma was the strongest woman I have ever known, I was very lucky to have be able to spend summers with her and Sal, she was always so fun and loving she showed Kelli,Jennifer and myself so many sights in the New England states she always took us to great places to eat showed us so much history. She loved her family so much!! I was very lucky to live two years close to her when Casey and I lived in Georgia we spent holidays, weekends with her and Sal they adored Adam and Adam adored them they gave us so many wonderful memories that I will cherish forever!! I will miss her cooking her laugh I will miss our conversations over a couple beers she was an amazing woman and I will miss her for the rest of my life!!!! One of the best memories I have is one Christmas Casey Adam and I went to spend Christmas with them  grandma and I went to Christmas Eve service together it was such a beautiful service and such a special moment to share with her!!! I was very blessed to have had her as my grandma I will love and miss her forever! 

Grandma is a very special person to me. We spent every summer with her and Sal in Connecticut. She taught us things and she showed us things we would have never been able to see. I saw all of New England because of her. She helped Shelli and I get our first apartment in Florida. She did a lot for us, no one could put on such a breakfast every morning for us she made me feel like a princess.  I love you grandma with all my heart, you will be missed ❤️
