Iris Frances Ackerly was my aunt, the younger sister of my father James.

She was a presence during my childhood in London visiting my family several times, and when we emigrated to New Zealand she also came there, even to my wedding in 1987.

Like myself she retained a great love of our homeland and the last time I saw her was in 2010 at her school friends house in London.

She was a wonderful, beautiful person who loved my brother and I dearly. I know she will be at peace now she is reunited with her beloved parents, siblings and husband.

I love her now and always.
Always in my heart.

I met Iris around 1998. She and her sister Maisie had met my grandparents at their Sunday Hardee's breakfast rituals. In the years following my grandmother's death, Iris became a wonderful friend to my grandfather - and to our entire family. She brought great joy and happiness to his life, even after his lung cancer re-emerged. When he passed from cancer in 1999, Iris was a great comfort to our family.

Thank you, Iris, for the friendship you showed to my grandfather. You made his last years very special. I know it meant the world to him - and to all of us as well.

My thoughts and sympathies are with all of Iris' family and friends.

I met my "Auntie Iris" when I was very young, as she was my next door neighbor for many years. She was always a delight, and I have many fond memories of tea parties at her home and exploring her beautifully landscaped back yard. I will never forget the joy she brought to my family's lives. She truly was a wonderful person, and I express my deepest condolences to her family. Rest in peace, Auntie Iris.

Iris was a very dear friend of.mine. my mother and I met Iris and Masie at Hardee's having breakfast. My mother called Iris little Iris and Iris called my mother little mama. After Masie and my mother passed away Iris and I adopted each other. I loved taking her to Hardee's and eating bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and hot tea. Iris would bring the tea bags. Oh how she loved my little dog Snoopy and the Jaguars. Iris I am truly going to miss you. May you rest in peace with all your loved ones and my little mama.

Iris, we have been friends for 68 years and I will greatly miss our daily telephone calls. Coming to the USA as war brides we had a lot in common and being such close friends helped both of us being so away from our homelands. I will never forget you Iris. Rest in peace.

Iris was a good friend of my parents, Bill and Jewel Mills. Mom really enjoyed her company and the 2 couples spent a lot of time together back in the 60's. She was a very sweet lady.
