Irving Oscar Pollan

Irving “Irv”Oscar Pollan, 69, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on February 15, 2024 after fighting a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Disease (Parkinson’s and dementia) surrounded by the love of his wife and family.

Irv was born on June 21st, 1954 to Daniel and Helene Pollan in Jacksonville, FL. After graduating from Wolfson High School in 1972, he attended the University of South Florida in Tampa, where he was a member of the Tai Epsilon Phi Fraternity. He was needed at home to help with the family grocery business after his father became ill. He then graduated from University of North Florida with a degree in business.

After graduation, he started his own company, NCC Business Services, and in partnership with his brothers, Ed and Steve, created a successful national company for over 35 years, until it was sold in 2019.

During this time he met Susan, who became his much loved wife, and when he retired in 2019, he spent his time with Susan, golfing, traveling, and enjoying good times with family and friends. He will be best remembered for his humor, kindness, generosity and how much he cared about everyone. He was loved and admired by his family, friends, professional peers, and anyone who knew him.

Irv is predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Helene. He leaves behind his wife, Susan; his brothers, Arthur (Loretta)Pollan, Stephen Pollan , Edward (Sherry)Pollan, his children from a previous marriage, Rebekah Pollan-Glebas (Matthew), Jakob Pollan, step-children, Andrew Fredrickson (Brittany), Matthew Gabrielli (Jesika), Michael Fredrickon, Amy Gabrielli and step-grandchildren Christopher, Leo, Avery and Wyatt, and nieces Adina Pollan, Adria Halliday, Megan Abbady and nephew Jason Pollan.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at New Center Memorial Park Cemetery, 43rd and Liberty Streets Jacksonville, FL 32206.
