She loved her Savior with all her heart.
She was a loving, Godly, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a friend like no other - she never met a stranger.
She was a homemaker, an artist, a writer, an inspiration, an example, and someone who loved all unconditionally. She was a crossing guard in Duval County for 14 years, most recently at Windy Hill Elementary where she loved all her children and was loved by all.
She taught those who knew her, and especially her family, the true meaning of love - Christian love, a wife’s love, a mother's love, a grandmother’s love, love for friends, love for children, and a love for those less fortunate.
She always had a smile and loved to laugh and make others laugh.
Her smile and laughter were infectious.
She was the most joyful person, and with the love of her life, she handled some of life’s harshest circumstances that were thrown their way.
She was loved so very much by her family and those that knew her and we will all miss her so much, but rejoice in the fact that we will see her again.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Joe Davis, Jr. who adored her and loved her well, 4 sons, Doug (Debby) Strother, David (Lyn) Strother, Steve Strother, and Tim (Nancy) Strother; 3 daughters, Meleia (J.B.) Nelson, Lisa (Mike) Sheffield, and Kathy Elliott.
She is survived by 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by 2 sisters, Faye Dorman and Janis Deyo as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by 2 sons, Terry Strother and Eric Strother, her parents Monroe and Leslie Lee, 1 brother, Dewey Lee, and 1 sister, Enid Lee.
