We were very saddened to learn of your Dad's death.  He was a very special person to us for over 30 years.  He always went out of his way to help us in the best way possible with our insurance. That continued when he carried the insurance for The Refuge Ranch.  He was a good friend and we will miss him.

Dear Millie,
I was deeply saddened and shocked when I listened to Bob Brown's voice mail message upon returning home from a trip.  Words failed me then, and even now I struggle to come to grips with the loss of Abbie.  Jim was a special person.  We met early in our freshman year at Wake Forest and quickly became friends.  We were roommates our sophomore year, elected the same major, had many classes together, and were brothers in Kappa Alpha Order.  He was an encourager and a confidant, and he taught me to appreciate the music of Johnny Mathis, Ray Conniff, Joni James, and other artists whose records he loved to listen to on his portable 33.3/45 rpm hi-fi record player.  Although our careers took us down different paths and miles separated us after graduation, Abbie has been my dear friend through the years.  Words are inadequate to express my sadness.  There's a big hole in my heart, but Jim will always be there saying "everything is OK, my friend."  I'm sorry I was unable to come to Jacksonville to share in your grief. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the Abercrombies.  May your memories of Jim and God's presence bring you comfort and strength.

There are no words to express the feelings I am experiencing from finding out about Jim. As you know I first met him when I went to work at the insurance agency. He was a great boss and at that time with his father. The memories my family have always cherished the most were the great friendship that developed as our children were on the same swim team. The endless practice and swim meets that brought us together as wonderful family friends. Then there was Jim coaching Chet in basketball. As the children grew up and time took us in different directions we never forget those years of friendship with the children and the wonderful times we shared. To this day when we are together stories of those years are the best times we experienced. Jim has remained in our hearts as an example of what a great man, father and friend should be. He and your family will remain in our hearts forever and you and your family will certainly be in our thoughts and prayers over the next few months praying for the strength you will need. I know I will be thinking about him a lot myself. God bless you and the family at this time in your lives when you need him most. I regret I missed the service, but I was at an emergency pre-op appointment for knee surgery this Monday.

I was in shock when my daughter Angila told me her father had seen Jim's obituary in the paper. I first knew Jim working for him at the insurance agency. We each had children on the same swim team and cherish the wonderful memories of all the swim practices and meets we attended over the years. He coached my son Chet's basketball team for several years. There are no words to express our feelings for your loss. Jim was a great boss, coach and truly an awesome friend to me and my family. Please know your family is in our thoughts and prayers and will be for a very long time. Even as the years pasted our family always reminisced about the great times we had knowing and being a part of such a truly special time as our children shared so much of what your family brought to our family. God truly blessed us with the friendship of him and your family.

Jenn and I are so very sorry for your loss. We have been keeping you in our prayers since we heard and wanted you all to know how much we love you. I am so grateful to Jimmy as an uncle, for the kindness, compassion and love he always bestowed. You all will continue to remain in my prayers. God Bless you as you grieve his absence. Jim was a true gentleman and friend to a lot of us.  I knew him through Kimley-Horn for 24 years.  My prayers are with his family.

My Dad grew up with Jimmy and always said he was one of the finest men he ever knew.  I experienced this first hand when Jimmy cared for my father and helped our family when we were in need. The last time I saw Jimmy was at our 75th birthday party and he seemed to be in great health.  I was so saddened upon hearing from friends that he was so ill and now to learn another really great guy from our class has died. Jimmy, you tell Henry, Robert, Charlie and all the other classmates you run into "Hi" for us.
