James F. Calhoun

Jim Calhoun, passed away Nov 19, 2011 in Omaha, NE at the age of 92. He was born Oct 20, 1919 in Sanford, FL, was a veteran of WWII, and retired from CSX. He was Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 2 (1962-1986), seeing more than 50 young men attain the rank of Eagle Scout. In addition, he was a member of the Masons and Shrine. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary and is survived by his daughter, Mary (Jim) Perry, NE; son, Michael (JoEllen) Calhoun, OH; grandchildren: LTC James (Jennifer) Perry, KY; Jayme and Jordan Calhoun; great-grandchildren: Connor and Mackenzie Perry. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Jim Calhoun Memorial Fund, Troop 2, Boy Scouts of America, 4275 Herschel Street, Jacksonville, Fl 32210. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Blanding Funeral Home, 5753 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. Funeral Service will be held at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, 4275 Herschel St., Jacksonville, FL, at 11:00am, Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011. Interment will be held at Jacksonville Memory Gardens of Orange Park, FL with a Masonic Graveside Service.
