

CONNER......James Arthur Conner, 76, was called home by Our Lord Jesus Christ on September 4,2012 surrounded by his family and friends. Jim was born on August 27, 1936 to Henry Leon Conner and Hattie Mae Nix in Glenwood, Georgia. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce; daughters, Pam and Tonya; sons, Jerry, Kevin, Tommy, Jon and Mike; sister, Betty and brothers, Leon and Joe; 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Jim was proud of his military service. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces retiring after over 20 years of service in the Air Force and Army National Guard. After leaving service he was employed by Volkswagon of America until final retirement. Jim was an avid golfer and bowler and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and especially loved to travel. He was a member of Arlington Assembly of God since 1974. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday (TODAY), September 6th at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Mr. Conner's funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 7th at Crossroads Family Worship Center, 542284 U. S. 1, Callahan, FL 32011, with Rev. Rick Crook officiating. The interment will follow at 12:30 p.m., with Full Military Honors, at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL.
