James “Jim” Clifford Didden, Jr., 42, passed away on November 16, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida, due to complications following a cardiac arrest. Born on May 6, 1983, in Jacksonville, Jim spent his life rooted in the places and people he loved most.
Jim was known for his skilled hands, steady work ethic, and the pride he took in his craft. He began learning the auto-glass trade at just 13 years old, growing into an exceptionally talented technician. At the time of his passing, he worked for Moonlight Auto Glass in Jacksonville, where he was valued not only for his expertise but for his genuine warmth and unfailing politeness—qualities many said made him one of the most courteous and kind people they had ever met.
He graduated from Central High School in Harrison, Tennessee. In the later years of his life, Jim found love, joy, and companionship with his fiancée, Nellie Pearson, who brought light and happiness to his final months.
Jim is survived by his mother, Dawn Ellis of Clearwater, FL; his brother, Justin Williams of Jackson, TN; his grandparents, Harold and Lois Snyder of Jacksonville, FL; his uncle, Jimmy Snyder of St. Augustine, FL; and his fiancée, Nellie Pearson. He was preceded in death by his father, James Clifford Didden, Sr., and by his grandfather, Raymond Bair. Jim’s passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory will continue to shine through the stories, laughter, and love he shared so generously.
A Celebration of Life will be held in May in Jacksonville, where family and friends will gather to honor Jim’s life and the gentle, polite, hardworking man he was.
