Jim was born at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station hospital on 20 September 1954 and was a lifelong Jacksonville resident. During his early years, Jim attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and was a graduate of Forrest High School and the University of North Florida.
Although an avid reader and student of history, Jim most enjoyed working with his hands. He loved the sense of accomplishment he received from doing small projects around the house or completing a building or remodeling project.
Jim was a quiet, private, introspective man and his close circle of friends will miss him deeply. He received immense joy from this camaraderie.
Jim is survived by his father Louis and brothers John, Mike, Tom and LJ. As much as they will miss him, Jim will be most remembered by his companion of many years, Janet Radvansky and by his faithful dog Buddy. Jim rescued Buddy as an abandoned puppy from a north Florida back road, and their daily walks were a frequent sight in their west Jacksonville neighborhood.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 5753 Blanding Blvd., in Jacksonville.
A brief viewing and service will be held for family and friends on Saturday, 10 September, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with internment following at Jacksonville Memorial Gardens off Blanding Blvd in Orange Park.
