

James Kenneth Longmire, 71, passed away June 24th at his home following an extended illness. Born in Jackson, Tennessee on July 25, 1945, he graduated from Lambuth College in 1968 and moved to Jacksonville FL at that time. For 30 years, Ken taught Chemistry and Biology, retiring from Raines High School in 1998. He was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday morning usher for many years.
Ken is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann Marie Molander Longmire of Jacksonville FL, and his son, Joshua Longmire, as well as two grandchildren whom he adored, Rees Longmire and Ann Marie Longmire. He is also survived by two sisters, Dale Jolley and Brenda Williams, both of Jackson, Tennessee, a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Riverside Baptist Church, 2650 Park Street, Jacksonville FL 32204, on Friday, June 30th at 11am. The family will receive friends the hour before and following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Riverside Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens, 729 Edgewood Ave. S., Jacksonville FL 32205.
