James H. Taylor

Mr. Taylor received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Murray State University in Murray, KY.

After serving 3 years as principal of Lee Elementary School in Mayfield, KY, Mr. Taylor went to the Grand Blanc, Michigan School District from which he retired in 1977.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Adele Taylor and his daughter, Shirley J. Cummings. He is survived by his loving, wife, Ellie Taylor; step-daughter, Donna Brooks; grandchildren, Terry Wilford (Danny), Billy Cummings (Suzy) and Deborah Peoples; 2 step-grandchildren, Michael Brooks and Lisha Brooks; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; along with numerous family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 5th in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. The Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6th in Mandarin Cemetery on Mandarin Road.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Taylor’s name may be made to the charity of your choice, to the American Heart Association or to Melanoma Research.
