

James R. Ward, 78, a longtime resident of Jacksonville, passed away March 10, 2012. Jim was born November 12, 1933 in Owassa, Alabama. He lived his life for the Lord and his family. He was a well-known & respected CPA in Jacksonville, FL for over thirty years. As a young adult, Jim served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. When not working, he loved to spend his free time playing golf with his friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus & Velma Ward, and brothers, Earl & Edgar Ward. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jaime and Jonathan Maurer; grandchildren Kylie and Julia; step-son, Chip Tyson; sisters, Mary McGrath & Joyce Bilger; brother, Lavon Ward; and many dear friends and close colleagues.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 11:00 am at Franklin Street Baptist Church, 2521 Franklin Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206. Dr. Terry Gore will be officiating.
