Jane Jay Still

Jane Jay Still passed away peacefully on January 30th, 2024. Jane was born in Thomasville, GA on December 29th 1930, the daughter of Lettie and Wistar Jay. She spent her childhood in Thomasville and then attended and graduated from University of Georgia. It was on a golf course in Thomasville where she met her beloved husband of 70 years Robert (Bob) Still. Upon Marriage, the two moved to Jacksonville to start their life together. Jane worked for Prudential Insurance before becoming the mother of three children in three years. She was an active volunteer for many social, civic and charitable organizations; her two favorites being The Colonial Dames and Watsonia Garden Circle. Jane was known for her beauty, her zest for living, her leadership ability, and most importantly her faith. Her love for people was a reflection of her love for Christ. Jane found great pleasure in entertaining, she enjoyed fine wine, and she adored her family and friends.

Jane is predeceased by her parents and sister, Letty. She is survived by her husband Dr. Robert H Still, sons Dr. Robert Still (Bethany), Richard Still (Lisa), and daughter Jay Townsend (Vernon). Grandchildren Austin Townsend, Katie Williams (Bradley), Richard Still, Amelia Still, Robert Still, Jake Still and Caroline Still. Great Grandchildren Bradley Williams and Hunter Williams.

A Memorial Service will be held at St John’s Cathedral. 256 East Church St, Jacksonville, FL 32202 on Friday February 9th at 2:00PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations may be made to City Rescue Mission or Community Hospice.
