Jane M. Strange

Jane M. Burns Strange, 95, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2020 in Jacksonville, FL, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her three daughters, Carla (Jim) Huber, Donna (Dallas) Johnson, and Sandi (John) Davoli, 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandbaby to be. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Carl A. Strange and her son Carl A. Strange Junior She shared her unconditional love to over 100 foster children in Pittsburgh, PA.

Jane was a devoted and faithful member of Lakewood Methodist Church in Jacksonville, FL. Her love for God and church was remarkable. She always looked forward to church every Sunday and often volunteered to help with Sunday breakfast. Wednesday nights were shared there with her friends and family at the fellowship dinner and small prayer groups.

Her hobbies included but were not limited to taking care of others, especially the elderly. She would sit with those in need and provide comfort and companionship lasting over 10 years. She loved to paint with her friends at the Mandarin Senior Center every Thursday. Many beautiful Christmas gifts were made by her in her art studio at home.

Another service will follow at John F. Slater Funeral Home in Pittsburgh, with burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jane’s honor to Vitas Community Connection, vitascommunityconnection.org.
