She was born on December 22, 1943, in Amonate, Virginia, to Woodrow Lester and Effie Parsons. The third of six children, Jean grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. As a teenager, Jean moved to Hawthorne, Florida, where she graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1961. It was there that she met Robert "Bob" Higginbotham, the love of her life. After graduation, Jean returned to Virginia to work for the FBI while Bob served in the United States Army. They were married on September 8, 1962, and shared a loving marriage for 60 years until Bob's passing. Jean leaves us almost four years to the day after the loss of her beloved husband.
Jean was a faithful and devoted Christian who loved serving the Lord and worshiping with her church family. She was a member of Deermeadows Baptist Church for more than 30 years, where she and Bob faithfully served in many ministries and built lasting friendships.
Above all else, Jean's greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who was always determined to provide a safe, caring, and loving home. She treasured every moment spent with them.
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly (Mason) and Tiffany (Tony); and her three beloved grandchildren, Noah, Madilyn, and Natalie; and her brother, Larry, and her sister, Brenda. Her dedication, unwavering faith, and unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
