Jean Willa Rice
May 31, 1930 – February 17, 2021
Jean W. Rice, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2021.
Jean was born in Munson, Florida on May 31, 1930. She grew up in Alabama with her parents, David Lee and Allie Mae Fuqua (both deceased). She had one sister Jo Coale of Brewton, Alabama and one brother, Huey Fuqua of Niceville, Florida, who also preceded her in death.
Jean married Howard Rice of Pittsburgh, PA in March 1951 and began a 30 year journey as a Navy wife. To this union was born three sons; Ricky (Nelda Jean) of Camden, Alabama, David (Jeanette) of Norfolk, Virginia; Steven (deceased); and one daughter, Nancy (Brian) of Jacksonville, Florida. Jean had 7 grandchildren; Dana, Daniel, Rachael, Adam, Wendy, Dylan and Ryan. She had eleven great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She had many special nieces and nephews spread from Alabama to Pittsburg, PA.
A special thank you to Brookdale Mandarin Staff and Community Hospice for the care and comfort provided to Jean in her last days.
Jean will be laid to rest with her husband in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.

Aunt Jean was a sweet lady. When we would come to Florida for a visit she made use feel at home. She made sure we were never hungry always making food for us. She will be missed by her Pittsburgh family. Rest in peace.
