

Jean Anne Davies Willis, 92, was born April 19, 1929 at St. Luke's Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. She passed August 13, 2021 at home in Jacksonville, FL as a lifelong native. Jean Anne was the only child of Robert Reese Davies and Jean Richmond Davies. She attended Robert E. Lee High School and graduated in 1948. During high school she was State President of YWCA Teens. Her passion was dancing and she started at the age of 5. During WWII she was a volunteer USO dancer and attended the dances several times a week. At one dance she met the love of her life Forest (Frosty) Willis who was a yeoman at NAS Jax working with the Blue Angels. They married November 27, 1949 and were married 72 years until Frosty passed in April 2021. Her whole life she continued to love dancing. In the early 50's she was very involved in the Arlington Women's Club as well as was a founding member of the Arlington Presbyterian church. Later she became actively involved as a volunteer counselor in the Young Life Inner City Club, various Assembly of God ministries, Teen Challenge Advisory Council and a phone counselor for the Gyland Ministries. She spent many years doing activities with teens. Her favorite pastimes and hobbies included knitting, embroidery, doll collecting, coloring, cutting out paper dolls and having long phone conversations with friends and family. In addition to being predeceased by her parents, she is joining her deceased daughter-in-law Rita Willis and many of her beloved cousins and friends as well as Frosty that she dearly missed for the last four months. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Reese Colton (Ed) and son Forest Willis, Jr. (Lisa). Her surviving grandchildren are Chris Bennett (Cherlyn), Sarah Mock (Daniel), Rachel Barrett, Katy Jean and Priscilla Colton. Great grandchildren are Matthew, Mackenzie, Lauren, Lea, Maleah and Ezekiel (Zeke)
A visitation for Jean will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 11:00am, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. A reception will follow on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 12:30pm, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. A committal service will take place in Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL.
