

Jerry was born in Jacksonville FL, January 8, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey J. Kight, and Fleda Kight, and her Husband, Robert “Bob” Davenport. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Davenport, two sons, Robert Davenport and Blair Davenport, Granddaughter, Makenzie Davenport and Grandson, Morgan Davenport.
Jerry graduated from Landon High School, class of 1952, where she marched with the celebrated Landon Lionettes and was elected Outstanding Unit Leader, their highest honor awarded. She attended the University of Florida.
Jerry served her community in so many different ways. President of Windy Hill Elementary PTA, President of Duval County Council of PTAs, Senior Scout leader of Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts. She taught Physical education at Hendricks Day School. She was also involved with the Jacksonville Ladies Bowling Association, serving in many capacities as well as president, and also on the Board of the Florida State Women’s Bowling Association. She was instrumental in starting the Jacksonville Veterans Bowling League.
She loved her neighborhood and led in planning many of their neighborhood holiday gatherings which have become traditions celebrated every year.
A graveside service for Jerry will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
